The Ghost Pepper is also known as Bhut Jolokia which actually means Bhutanese Chilli. The chilli is native to North East India. It is closely related to the Naga Morich.
Guinness World Records certified the Ghost Pepper as the hottest chilli in the world in 2007 – it was rated at 400 times hotter than Tabasco Sauce. It was superceded for heat by the Trinidad Scorpion in 2011 and Carolina Reaper in 2013
